Being a frequent guest in the sprinting events though, Jamaican athletes had only taken seven gold medals before the Beijing Olympics.

Usain Bolt, who stands 1.96 meters, has been one of the biggest magnets in the Olympics. The 22-year-old reigned the men's 100m and 200m and later helped his side win the 4x100m relay.

The female sprinters were stunning as well. They swept the medals over 200m, winning other two gold medals in 100m and 400m hurdles. The women's 4x100m could have belonged to Jamaica if there weren't a botched baton exchange.

"The secret of our sprinting successes is that we Jamaicans are too clumsy to run the distance," Herbert Elliott, the team's chief doctor quipped.

The country's sports minister, Olivia Grange, seized the opportunity to promote Jamaican food and fresh air to reporters.

The real endeavor behind the phenomenal achievement has been also disclosed by the minister: a national training system for Jamaican sprint talents from very early ages

Bolt is a perfect example who came out of such a school system. When he was only 15 years old, Bolt won a national championship designed for junior talents in Jamaica.

After picking up the sprint talents, Jamaica's sports ministry will arrange further training in the "centers of excellence".

Jamaica has established two such centers. One in Jamaica's University of Technology, where Asafa Powell is based. The other is in the University of West Indies.

Jamaica, the island country with a population of 2.8 million, has turned the world sprinting history to a new page. The question is: how long will they rule?

Dream Olympics closes

A dream of an Olympic Games for the Caribbean in Beijing ended with a glittering closing ceremony at the Bird's Nest Stadium watched by 91,000 fans yesterday.

Led by the astounding talent of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, the English-speaking Caribbean captured a whopping 15 medals including six gold - a performance unparallelled by the region in Olympic history.

Bolt could have been foremost in the mind of Liu i, the Beijing Olympics Organising Committee chairman, when he praised the competitors, saying: "Let us congratulate the athletes on their great achievements."

Bolt stunningly smashed world records in every event in which he participated. He clocked 9.69 seconds to win the men's 100 metres, lowering his own world mark, before smashing Michael Johnson's formidable 200-metre world record with a staggering run of 19.30 seconds.

Bolt, who turned 22 years old during the Games, also helped Jamaica obliterate a 16-year-old American world record when their men's sprint relay team stopped the clock at 37.10 seconds.

Winners and losers at the Beijing Olympics

Beijing: Winners and losers at the Beijing Olympics:Winners
Usain Bolt: Never has a sprint king been so aptly named as the streak of yellow lightning from Jamaica who pulled off an unprecedented double-triple of world records and titles in winning the 100m, 200m and 4x100m sprint relay golds. Little-known before the start of this year, and regarded as being too tall and lanky for the shorter dash, Bolt exploded onto the world scene with a 100m world record in late May and the manner in which he confirmed that in Beijing will go down in Olympic history. He reckons he can improve his start which could bring the 9.6secs barrier into prospect. His pre- and post- race antics upset IOC chief Jacques Rogge, but he delighted fans, pundits and sponsors alike with his laid-back approach.

Michael Phelps: The Beijing Games started at 8:08 on 08/08/08 in keeping with Chinese beliefs that the number eight brings good luck and it will be the record eight gold medals won by Michael Phelps that will mark these Games forever. Some of his golds he won easily, others were agonisingly close, but at the end of the day the legendary seven golds won by Mark Spitz in Munich 35 years ago had finally been surpassed. The unassuming American now holds the record of Olympic titles at 14 and he fully intends to compete in London in four years time when he will be just 27 years old. That could see him bidding to hike his career golds up to an amazing 20.

Chris Hoy: The Flying Scotsman was originally a steam-engine train that smashed world speed records in the last century, Now it refers to the 32-year-old Edinburgh powerhouse who spearheaded Britain’s astonishing track cycling campaign which saw them win seven out of the 10 golds on offer. Hoy, who was left distraught after the IOC scrapped the one kilometre event he won in Athens, worked furiously to turn his formidable four-lap time trial skills into ones with power and acceleration and it paid off as he won the individual and team sprints as well as the keirin, equalling a 100-year-old British Olympic record in the process.

Yelena Isinbayeva: Diva is a word that is overused in the sporting world, but if there is any athlete who merits the description it is Russia’s peerless pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva. The former gymnast and Red Army lieutenant pocketed her second straight Olympics gold with consumate ease, clearing 25cm higher than her nearest rival, and then produced a one-woman show of the highest quality and drama. She failed twice in her bid at a new world record height of 5.05m, but on her third attempt she sailed over triggering one of the most gleeful gold medal celebrations of the Games. She insists she will be back in four years time in London to bid for the treble.

Team China: China completed the Long March to world sporting supremacy on home territory and the toppling of the United States never looked in doubt from the moment that weightlifter Chen Xiexia opened her country’s account with the second gold medal of the Olympics. By the end of the Games, China had made off with 51 golds, well ahead of the Americans. The United States remained ahead in total number of medals won though. China’s successes came mainly in lower profile sports such as diving, shooting and table-tennis while success in sports like athetics and swimming remained elusive with just Liu Zige’s women’s 200m butterfly gold to celebrate for the hosts. How well the Chinese defend their crown in London in four years time will be fascinating to watch.

Kenenisa Bekele and Tirunesh Dibaba: The fleet-footed duo from Ethiopia underlined their country’s domination of long-distance track running by claiming men’s and women’s 5000m and 10,000m doubles within a day of each other. Both won with consumate ease. Bekele became the first male athlete to do the double since another Ethiopian Miruts Yifter achieved the same feat in the boycotted 1980 Games in Moscow, while Dibaba’s accomplishment was a ground-breaker for the women. Ethiopia’s gold rush was a bitter blow to arch-rivals Kenya but the east African running power bounced back with first ever golds in the men’s marathon through Samuel Wanjiru and in the women’s 800 and 1500 metres through Pamela Jelimo and Nancy Jebet Langat.

Losers

Tyson Gay: Gay started the year as world champion and the leading force in global sprinting alongside Asafa Powell. He left Beijing empty-handed and confused. Gay’s preparatuons for the Olympics were badly hampered by a hamstring injury, but even then few would have predicted he would fail to make it through to the final. His fall from grace presaged a miserable time for US sprinters as Usain Bolt and the all-conquering Jamaicans won five out of the six sprint golds on offer with Russia taking the women’s 4x100m after the Jamaicans dropped the baton. Hapless handovers also doomed both US sprint relay teams and the powers that be have ordered a major review of all USA Track and Field programs.

Liu Xiang: Hurdler Liu’s dream of providing China with the big win they sought in the Olympic Stadium was shattered under the twin burdens of injuries and massive pressure. The signs were there that all was not well before the Games even got underway as the Shanghai Express holed up in the sidings while Cuba’s Dayron Robles snatched away his world record. It still came as a stunning blow to the nation, however, when he pulled up in pain after a false start to his opening heat and marched disconsolately off the track. Liu later apologised to his compatriots and vowed to regain his crown in London in four years time when at 29 he will still be in his prime as a hurdler.

Laure Manaudou: The French swimmer exploded onto the scene as a 17-year-old in Athens four years ago and she supplanted Grand Slam tennis swimmer Amelie Mauresmo as France’s most admired woman athlete. But Beijing was a different story. Her form slumped in the last few months as her love life and wrangles with coaches became a staple of the French gossip columns. It all came home to roost in China where she could only manage seventh place in the final of the 400m freestyle where she was the defending champion, followed by last place in the 100m backstroke final and finally a dismal eighth and last place in the semi-finals of the 200m backstroke after which she tearfully fled for home.

Brazil’s footballers: If failing to end the jinx that has seen the Brazilians never having won the men’s Olympic title to go with the five World Cups they have won, it was arch-rivals Argentina that sent them packing with a humiliating 3-0 thumping in the semi-finals. Dunga’s players did save some face by defeating Belgium for the bronze medal but their performances in China left the legendary Pele shaking his head. The Brazilian women went one better and reached the final but once again they fell to the United States and the tears and anguish that the players displayed at the final whistle showed that there was no silver lining for them in defeat.

Roger Federer: The Swiss maestro said he would salvage his season with wins in the Olympics and at the US Open. His stunning quarter-final loss to Fernando Gonzalez in Beijing leaves him with just Flushing Meadows to go this year. To make matters worse his Spanish nemesis Raphael Nadal won at a canter as he underlined his newly-acquired position as the number one tennis player in the world. Federer has now played in three Olympics and his best performance remains a fourth-place finish in Sydney in 2000. Curiously, there was some consolation for him when he teamed up with Stanislas Wawrinka to win the men’s doubles title for his country. He had hoped for more.

Cuba’s boxers: Cuba’s proud record in Olympic boxing was dealt a painful knockout blow as the Caribbean island came away empty-handed in terms of gold medals. They had eight boxers out of 10 competing who reached the semi-finals and four made it through to the finals, but not one managed to strike gold – the first time that has happened since 1968 other than 1984 and 1988 when they didn’t compete. At least the Cubans had a legitimate excuse as they had lost five of their best boxers to defections in the 18 months before the Games began. Regrouping for London in four years time will be high on the lost of priorities – if they can keep their top talents at home.

Sprint to offer Blue Systems mobile market data system

Blue Systems, a London-based provider of global financial information software, today announced that it has entered an agreement with Sprint, one of North America's premier mobile carriers, to offer its real-time financial market data application, blue mobile, to Sprint's customers.

blue mobile provides professional and retail investors with the fastest, smartest way to analyze global stock market information in their offices, at home, or on the move, 24/7. An intrepid user on the SprintUsers.com forum found this image online, and it sure looks convincing to me. The LX600 is actually a clamshell that opens up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.

Like the Blitz, the LX600 is a "dumb" phone made just for messaging. It also has external music player keys for the built-in music player, as well as a camera, but there doesn't seem to be too much information about the other features. Engadget Mobile reports a rumored release on October 16, so I guess we have a while to wait to see if this is the real deal.

Logano To Drive In 2009 Sprint Cup Series

It was October 1997, during his first newspaper interview, that Joey Logano made clear what his expectations were for his racing career.

Though he was only 7 and had never raced in anything other than a Quarter Midget, Logano made it clear that the day would come when he would be racing regularly against his favorite driver at the time, Jeff Gordon. The seemingly million-to-one long shot dreams of a youngster become reality next year.

Joe Gibbs Racing, the organization that signed the Middletown native to a developmental contract when he was 15, announced Monday that Logano will compete in the Sprint Cup Series full time in the No.20 Home Depot Camry in 2009.

Logano, who has been competing in NASCAR's second tier Nationwide Series since turning 18 in May, will replace Tony Stewart in the car. The first race was postponed a day because of rain. The next day, it was still raining, but the track was ruled drivable.

“We were sitting on the grid with a dry setup when it started raining,” Bird said. “We had 30 minutes to switch to a wet setup.”

Bird had trouble in the qualifying run with a constricted airbox, causing him to lose speed on the straightaways.

“I thought it would cost us the championship,” Bird said. “When it’s wet, it is so hard to feel what’s going on with the kart.

“The kart is totally different in those conditions. You can spin out easier and it’s hard to turn the kart.”

Bird still managed to take third in the main event and remain in first place, but Sabrè Cook moved into a tie with Bird. Jesse Runkel of Denver was one point behind in third.

Bird started the last race in third place, but the weather cleared and his chances increased.

“I felt I had to win the last race,” Bird said. “We discovered later if I would’ve got second I still would’ve won the championship.

“It was really big to win (the points title). The first one was nice, but it meant a lot more to win it a second time because of how competitive the field got. Everyone’s times were faster this year.”

Another Grand Junction driver, Sabrè Cook placed third.

Grand Junction’s Beau Cook won the TaG Mini Max points title and Jake Snider took second in the 125 Shifter Light class.

Now, Bird hopes to follow his CSC title with a World Championship. The World Championships take place Sept. 18-21 at Grand Junction Motor Speedway.

“It would be really cool to be a state champ and win the world championship,” Bird said. “It will be more difficult, but being on the home track should give us a leg up on everybody.”

There were more than 20 competitors in the class last year.

Bird placed third in the TaG Junior World Championships and Sabrè Cook won it last year.

Flo-Jo records remove glamour from female sprints - Veronica

Reigning Olympic 200-metre champion, Veronica Campbell-Brown, believes female sprinters will continue to play second fiddle to the men until someone gets close to or breaks Florence Griffith-Joyner's world records.

Before a capacity crowd the Bird's Nest Stadium last week, the Jamaican ran her heart out to clock a personal best of 21.74 seconds and defend her Olympic half-lap title, but was still a long way off the 20-year-old world record.

Her fellow countryman Usain Bolt was the highlight of the Olympics, blazing the track to set new world records in the 100 metres and 200 metres events.

"It's a touchy subject, but if I should be honest, I really believe men get more attention in this sport," Campbell told the broadcast media here. "It's based on the fact that the world record in the 100m and 200m for men is reachable.

"For me, my PRs (personal record) are 10.85 and 21.74, which I just accomplished here and I only ran that once. Open source conferences now frequently feature a sprint before or after the conference proper.

The PyCon Development Sprints are for open-source projects: up to four days of intensive learning and development. If you can spare the time, you'll be wellcome at the sprints. All experience levels are welcome. You can even participate remotely (via IRC)!

Open source is taking over more of the software infrastructure in commercial enterprises. Sprint is a practical way to support and encourage improvements in the open source software on which businesses are increasingly reliant. By organizing or supporting a sprint.
Talk about what is going to be done at the sprint. Defining some goals and communicating them ahead of time helps for focus and preparation. For example, you could have a sprint focused on improving core themes.

If you are running an open source project, these sprints are a great way to get high quality user experience consulting for free, and to considerably improve the usability of your application or site.
A Zope Sprint is a two-day or three-day focused development session. Tres Seaver at Zope Corporation (ZC) launched the concept of Sprints, based on ideas from the Extreme Programming (XP) community, for the development of Zope 3.

The current sprint projects are listed here. More sprints can be added at any time (including at the conference), as well as updates to the existing information; so check back often. You can sign up for sprints (not a hard commitment), or have your own sprint!
The Zope 3 project pioneered the practice of sprints for open source software development. The sprints are intensive development sessions when programmers from different countries gather in one room and work together for a couple of days or even several weeks.

This is not a special kind of event for Plone or the open source world, but exactly what happens in other businesses as well. Most of the time there is a business and a development orientated track each consisting of a series of talks and tutorials. See the events section for past and upcoming events.

Ok, let's break it down. A sprint is all-volunteer. It's not a consulting gig. Some sprint organizers, especially folks organizing sprints to tackle very specific, complicated problems, will sponsor the travel costs of key attendees. But nobody's getting paid for their time. Sprints are flat, non-hierarchical events (like open-source itself!) and that's important.

Technology On Sprint

Sprint operates a nationwide network with CDMA technology in the PCS (1900 MHz) band, in addition to a nationwide iDEN network acquired during Sprint's merger with Nextel in August 2005. Sprint is also planning a gradual transition of its iDEN network to CDMA technology, while also building a separate WiMAX data network offering faster speeds than EVDO Rev.

The Sprint Power VisionSM Network provides rich, clear visuals, high–quality sound and broadband–like speed on your wireless phone. Jason and Keith talk about the Microsoft/Yahoo breakup, Sprint and Clearwire getting cozy (but Sprint possibly dumping Nextel), and Google whining about Verizon. Sprint also has been in an on-again, off-again business relationship with Clearwire on WiMax.

In 2005, the companies formed a joint venture known as Pivot that would allow cable operators to resell Sprint's wireless service as part of their bundle of services that includes broadband, TV, and home phone service. The companies were also supposedly working to integrate Sprint's wireless service with the cable services to extend the content and services cable offered to a wireless device.

Instead of simply reselling Sprint's service, Comcast will own the relationship with the customer and will be able to develop services on the 3G network as well as Clearwire's new 4G network that can leverage Comcast's services and content.

Latest News From Sprint's EvDO

In most cases, your choice of mobile broadband provider will coincide with your choice of cellular carrier, which makes managing your accounts easier.

Sprint's EvDO mobile broadband network covers most metro areas in the United States and works with assorted PC Card and ExpressCard devices, as well as built-in adapters from Dell, Sony, Panasonic, and others. Additionally, the College Basketball Experience, which includes the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame will be connected to and located directly north of the Sprint Center

It was announced that the Sprint Center will host the 2008 Big 12 Conference men's basketball tournament, in addition to the First and Second Rounds of the 2009 NCAA Men's Tournament and the regional rounds of the 2010 NCAA Women's Tournament. The city has also entered into discussions with the NHL and the NBA regarding possible expansion or relocation of a professional hockey and/or basketball franchise to the arena. Its title sponsor is the telecommunications company Sprint.

Details:

Ground was broken for the arena on June 24, 2005, and construction is well underway. The final design, by the Downtown Arena Design Team (a collaboration of architectural firms 360 Architecture, Ellerbe Becket and HOK Sport), was selected in August 2005.
The Big 12 Conference men's basketball tournament will take place at the Sprint Center in 2008, marking the tournament's return to Kansas City after three years in Dallas and Oklahoma City. Women's basketball will take place at the nearby Municipal Auditorium.

The arena will also house the headquarters of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. Which, is located at 1301 Grand Boulevard connected to the Sprint Center.
The outside the arena is entire glass. Inside it will have state of the art technology with a 360 degree LCD video screen. This facility should allow Kansas City to draw most concerts touring the United States. There has been speculation of an NBA or NHL team relocating to the Sprint Center upon completion, but as of yet no definitive plans have been announced. The city was given a NHL franchize in 1974, the Kansas City Scouts, but the Scouts moved in 1976 to Colorado, and after that to New Jersey. It was one of the shortest lifespan for a franchize in NHL history.

Phosphagen Elite and Creatine Help You Increase Your Muscle Mass

If you are interested in body building or increasing muscle mass, you have probably been told that Creatine can help. Exactly what is Creatine, and how can it help build more muscle mass?

Creatine is produced naturally by your body. It is, in fact, a nitrogenous organic acid that helps provide energy to the muscle cells in the body. Creatine is produced in the pancreas, liver, and kidneys and is dispersed throughout the body through the blood stream to the muscles.

Creatine will attract the water surrounding the muscle cells and thereby enlarging them. Because the cells have become super hydrated, it leads to nice side effects such as increased strength as well as making the muscles look fuller.

When the Creatine reaches the muscles, it turns into Creatine Phosphate, which regenerates Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the primary energy source your muscles utilize when completing short burst exercises, such as sprints or quick reps after a set and also speeds up the recovery rates needed by the muscles after a work out.

Creatine can be found in food we eat, especially meat and meat products. Foods such as herring, beef, tuna, and salmon all naturally contain Creatine. However, it is very difficult for someone to get the required amount of creatine that is necessary to provide them with the performance enhancement that they are looking for. You would need to eat 2.2lbs of red meat or tuna just to get approximately 4 to 5 grams of Creatine, and in many cases you will loose some of that Creatine as it will often be destroyed when the meat or fish is cooked.

One of the best ways to increase the amount of Creatine in your body is by taking Creatine supplements such as Phosphagen Elite. Phosphagen Elite is a fourth generation Creatine that includes Beta-Alanine. Beta Alanine, another natural substance in the human body, aids in the production of carnosine which acts as a buffering agent against lactic acid build-up. Phosphagen Elite is easy to add to your daily work out schedule. All you need to do is mix one serving of the powder with eight ounces of water and drink it before a workout.

There are a lot of Creatine products in the market today. With a little research, you will soon be able to find the best Creatine product that works best for you. Just remember, always look for quality ingredients.

Nascar 3-D cell phone games

Last year, it was the camera phone. But this year, industry insiders say the newest trend for mobile phones will be three-dimensional video games, attracting a new generation of users and driving sales throughout the mobile market.
The newest cell phones with 3D scene rendering are already popular in Asia and are expected to make a splash soon here in the U.S. and across Europe. That's because the games have improved along with the phones - offering high resolution, large color screens, surround sound and easy-to-use joysticks. And with the advancement in phones, mobile users won't need to sacrifice traditional options like business applications for 3D versions of their favorite games.

Analyst group IDC estimates more than 24 million Americans will download at least one wireless game this year and predicts the industry will generate $1 billion in U.S. revenue by 2006. If wireless gaming can become as big as the once doubted downloadable ring tone industry - which now generates millions of dollars - then soon, most people will be playing games with their phones.

nascar sounds cell rings

NASCAR and cell phones seem to be a match made in heaven. As the owner of my private athletic training company I have had the opportunity to work with athletes from numerous colleges and universities across the country and have witnessed their disgust with their schools strength and conditioning programs. Some athletes, such as those attending Arizona State, are fortunate enough to have outstanding strength coaches and tremendous programs that they need not look elsewhere for help. Others are not so lucky. Every August I try to send my athletes back to their respective schools as one of the strongest, fastest, and most well conditioned players on their team. Come December I see the unlucky one's come back to me weaker, smaller and slower. These athletes have the misfortune of training under some Neanderthal strength coach who hasn't learned anything new about weight training since the release of Pumping Iron. There have been countless advances in the field of strength and conditioning over the last ten years, yet very few people seem to take advantage of them. It is inexcusable that in 2004, a college strength and conditioning coach does not have a thorough knowledge of exercise and nutrition and can not properly prepare their teams for competition. If your athletes are losing size and strength, slowing down, and becoming more injury prone I think it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Every college athlete that hires me as their strength coach brings me their schools workout to look at before we get started. Some of the things I see in those programs are absolutely unfathomable.

One such example of the insanity is the baseball player I train whose school conditioning program includes running three miles through the city of Philadelphia ala Rocky Balboa every morning at 6am before lifting. Long distance running is useless for nearly every sport, especially baseball. Baseball players will normally run no more than 90 feet at any one particular time. That 90 foot sprint usually comes only once every half hour or so and only if the player gets a hit. So how, I ask, does running three miles each morning improve your ability to play the game of baseball? The only player on the field who needs real endurance is the pitcher. A well known strength coach once told me that if a baseball player can play Playstation in the locker room, without getting winded, he is aerobically fit enough for the game. Baseball is a game of skill and hand-eye coordination and the players need size, strength and speed. The major leagues are filled with pumped up monsters that hit 500 foot home runs and can bench press a car, yet many college coaches continue to run their players into the ground. Endless distance running will only cause the athletes to lose size, strength and most importantly…games. To get a few more wins this season, ditch the counterproductive marathon training and get your baseball players doing sprints and lifting heavy weights.

Adult ADD: Become a Sprint Racer to Get Things Done

We think it would be really, really interesting if we could pull back the curtain a little bit and let everybody take a peek at how we are applying consistency, and using ADD to our advantage to work on a project together. We're going to use the ADD Axioms project that we developed, which were created in 12 days and they were created at the same time every day for 12 days straight. Some people would say that requires a lot of consistency.

But we think that things like that require a lot of excitement for people with ADD, rather than consistency, to do something for 12 days straight. It requires a lot of consistency to do something every week for 12 weeks or every month for 12 months. When you’re talking about short surges of time, I don’t know that that’s about consistency. I think that’s about pure excitement.

Short bursts of time at a high rate of speed, that’s an ADD trait. We’re good at the bursts. We’re like the bunnies, right? When you have ADD, you can move really fast.

Imagine if we would have said, “Hey, let’s do 12 Axioms over the next 12 months. We’ll have a year-long commitment, we’ll do one every single month and, boy, this is going to be great. This is one of our first projects together and we’re definitely in it for the long haul. Even though we’re not used to working with each other yet, and even though we're both ADD, that’s okay. I’m sure it will all work out just fine.”

Look how boring that is, and as you know boring isn't something people with ADD do well. We would probably have lost interest, if we had done it that way, by the third call. By the third month. Think about it, that’s 90 days of having to maintain excitement and interest on exactly the same thing!

So, if you have ADD, think short bursts. What can you do in a short burst at a high rate of speed? This gives you a deadline. We said we’re going to do 12 Axioms in 12 days. Pretty solid deadline. And all we did was use our natural ADD strengths to be able to do that.

We answered people’s questions that they wrote in on the different ADD Axioms. We’re really good at that. We came up with new ideas about how to work with ADD very, very, very rapidly. We’re took all of the previous ADD research, knowledge, and experience that we had compiled, between the two of us, and focused on short bursts of time.

If you have ADD, this is a great model to look at for anything that you’re doing. Whether you’re writing a book, preparing a speech, or working on a website—it doesn’t matter what you’re doing—if you focus on those short chunks of time and high, high, high energy, you can do some really, really interesting stuff. You can do some extremely interesting stuff.

If you have ADD and you’re trying to do something, like write a book, for example, isn’t a much more consistent effort to write your book by saying, “Okay, every day for the next 10 days, I’m going to sit down and write one chapter,” or “Every day for the next 10 days, I’m going to work on some piece of the book”? Let’s just say you broke it down into chapters.

Now wouldn’t that be just awesome because you know at the end of 10 days you’re going to be done? Isn’t that a lot better than saying, “Yeah, I have this nine-month contract and I have to figure out how to write this book. I don’t know when I’m going to get the time to do it. I guess I have to consistently sit down and write everyday whether I feel like it or not.” It’s never going to get done.

It really is a matter of not just breaking it down into small chunks, but breaking it into small chunks that can be covered, preferably, in an hour at most and really cranking something out. Different people have different attention spans for different types of things, but if you break it into small chunks that can be accomplished in an hour at the most, and then you give each one of those small chunks a mini deadline, you put the pressure on, you can start really, really getting things done.

Camera Cell Phone Sprint

Camera cell phone by Sprint – offer with a service plan.

Camera cell phone by Sprint offer is just an example of many types of camera cell phones offered by service providers like Sprint PCS, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Cingular Wireless, and many more. Here are several tips to help you select the right motorcycle for you.

What type motorcycle should you purchase?

There are at least eight different motorcycle types (styles) of motorcycles: touring, sport-touring, standard, sport-bike, scooter, dual-sport, dirt-bike, and cruiser.

Many new riders begin their search by looking at Harley Davidson motorcycles. Don't make this mistake. While cruisers are extremely popular they don't necessarily make the best beginner motorcycle. They're heavy, loud, expensive, and unforgiving (loaded with chrome) of minor spills.

Touring motorcycles are generally built for long distance riding. Examples include the popular Honda Gold Wing and the BMW K1200. These motorbikes are heavy, powerful, expensive, and require significant skills to operate properly... making them a poor choice for new riders.

Sport-bikes (also referred to as crotch-rockets) are built for speed, agility, and performance. They're light weight, brightly colored, and quick. Engine sizes for sport-bikes usually range from 600cc to 1000cc.

Note: Don't let a smallish sounding 600cc engine fool you. A Honda CBR600 sport-bike can run circles around an 1800cc v-twin cruiser. Crotch rockets can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds! That's faster than 99% of all production sports cars.

Do sport-bikes make good beginner bikes? Probably not, unless you have the maturity to handle the temptations of power, speed, and agility.

The next style of motorcycle is pretty easy to describe. Dirt-bikes are made to ride off-road. Tread patterns and suspension components on dirt-bikes are very different than their street-bike cousins.

While many models have headlights and turn signals, most won't easily accommodate interstate travels. If you have convenient access to dirt roads or other off-road areas, a dirt-bike is a good beginner motorcycle.

Don't have easy access to off-road areas? Consider a dual-sport motorcycle. These bikes are made to accommodate moderate off-road conditions, and handle highway speeds. A compromise of sorts, they don't perform on-road as well as street bikes, nor off-road as well as dirt-bikes.

But, most dual-sport models can easily travel at interstate speeds and handle moderate off-road conditions. When you take that motorcycle tour (you've been dreaming about) to the Northern tip of Alaska, you'll most likely be riding a dual-sport motorcycle, like the popular Kawasaki KLR650.

A standard motorcycle is an older style that once described the majority of bikes available... hence the term 'standard'. Standard motorcycles are generally upright and moderately priced. Picture that 1970s bike your dad owned. It was most likely a standard motorcycle. While not the fanciest or flashiest bike, standard bikes can be good starter motorcycles.

Scooters? Before you form an opinion here, visit your local motorcycle dealership. Gone are the 50cc mopeds of the 1970s. Instead, several new scooters fancy large 650cc engines and automatic transmissions. With a top speed of over 100 mph, and a 0 to 60 acceleration time below 5 seconds, scooters can keep up with most anything. Want to embarrass a Harley rider or Mustang owner... no problems? A Honda Silver Wing 650 scooter can do both.

Do scooters handle like motorcycles. Sure. Do they operate easily on interstates? Yes. Do they make good beginner bikes? Why not?

A sport-touring motorcycle is the last style of motorcycle addressed here. Sport-touring models are sporty versions of touring bikes. Or conversely, relaxed versions of sport-bikes. This class of motorcycle falls between a touring bike and sport-bike.

The sport-touring class was designed as a balance between ergonomics, engine performance, and long range touring capabilities. It's a popular class of motorcycle that combines the best of both worlds. The Honda VFR Interceptor 800, Triumph Sprint ST, and Yamaha FJR 1300 are examples of popular sport-touring motorcycles. Most models utilize 650cc to 1300cc engines.

Do sport-touring motorcycles make good first bikes? They can. Most, however, are relatively heavy... utilizing high performance engines and creature comforts like hard rear storage bags. Before you select a sport-touring model, make sure you have the discipline to use only the power that matches your skill level.

For answers to other complex questions like: "What size engine can a beginning rider safely handle?" Static stretching prepares you to compete/practice

Static stretching actually reduces power output. Athletes should prepare for practice by doing a dynamic warm up that moves from basic, low intensity movements to faster, more explosive movements as the muscles loosen up. You want to simulate movements that athletes will go through in practice or a game. What happens when you try and stretch a cold rubber band? In a way, you can think about your muscles the same way.

2. Strength training makes females too bulky

This is a popular mindset with many female athletes that we have worked with. Simply look at some elite female athletes like Mia Hamm, Lisa Leslie, etc. These athletes certainly train with weights and no one would accuse them of having manly physiques. Strength training will improve performance and reduce injury if done correctly.

3. You can’t train speed

For some reason it is a popular belief that you are born with a certain amount of ‘speed’ and you can’t improve it. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Most young athletes are so physically weak and mechanically out of tune that significant improvements in speed can be made often just by working on technique and form. Athletes at any age and any level can improve speed when implementing a complete speed training program designed to improve and develop the entire athlete.

4. Training slow makes you fast

I don’t think coaches directly think this way, but their training implies otherwise. This is especially true in sports that involve a higher aerobic element such as soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, etc. I see kids out running mileage and doing long slow intervals of several minutes of continuous running. And this will get them in shape. But in games I see kids jogging, jogging and then sprinting at full speed for 20-30 yards, run, jog, sprint for 20-30 yards. If you want kids to improve their acceleration and top speed so they can get to the ball faster or get back on defense, then you have to train by running at full speed in practice.

5. You can train hard every day

The workout itself is only a piece of the training puzzle. It is the time between intense workouts, the recovery, where athletes make their improvements. And generally it takes 36-48 hours to recover from high intensity training. If athletes are doing too much, too often they become over trained. Coaches can expect to see an increase in injuries, kids complaining that they are sore more often, decreased performance, higher levels of fatigue earlier in games. It’s always better to under train an athlete than over train. Err on the side of caution to get maximal results.

6. Strength training will stunt a young athlete’s growth

This is another myth held over from a different time. On a daily basis, kids as young as 7 years old are playing organized sports year round, tackling, getting tackled, sliding, falling etc.. These loads on the body can have a much greater physical impact than a well designed strength training program. Though we don’t usually begin training with weights with pre pubescent athletes, they can benefit from body weight exercises such as push ups, lunges, sit ups, etc. This will increase muscular efficiency, speed up recovery, improve coordination and overall speed.

7. The harder the workout, the better the result

Some athletes (and coaches) have this mentality that if a workout doesn’t reduce them to complete exhaustion and/or make them vomit, that it wasn’t an effective workout. I can tell you that those who have this mentality probably see a lot of injuries and frustrating performances. The purpose of a workout is to stimulate an adaptation by the body. If the body is forced to do too much work in a given time period, it will break down. The skill in coaching is to stimulate the adaptation in the body, without reaching a point of diminishing returns.

8. Interval training is the same as speed training

Running repeat 100s, 200s, etc will not improve top speeds. Even running repeat 40s with short recovery will not improve acceleration and top speeds. Speed work is defined at 2-8 seconds of maximal intensity running with full recovery. That means at least 2 minutes of light dynamic movement between each effort. This goes against the experience of some coaches, but simply put, is the only way to improve speed. An athlete must be able to focus on proper form and maintain intensity in order to get faster. If they do not recover properly from each interval, they will not be able to replicate proper mechanics with consistency and they can not improve.

9. Flexibility won’t help you get faster

Both coaches and athletes spend so much time on the skills of their sport, speed training and conditioning that they often forget a fundamental component of success: flexibility. After practice or a game, the muscles are warm and loose. Now is the time to work on increasing flexibility. So many athletes suffer injuries or compete below their capacity because poor flexibility inhibits their range of motion and speed. We see this often in the hips and hip flexors where athletes’ stride length appears conspicuously short. Most often we see this in male athletes who will lift weights, train hard and then skip out on their cool down and flexibility work.

10. Lift your knees

I hear so many parents and coaches yelling to their kids when they want them to run faster or when they are beginning to fatigue, “Lift your knees, Get your knees up”. This is one of the most backwards cues we can give to athletes. The way to run faster is to apply more force to the ground. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so the more force you apply to the ground, the more the ground will give back. So when we cue athletes to lift their knees we’re doing two things incorrectly.

One, we’re telling them to use their hip flexors to lift instead of their glutes and hamstrings to drive down. Just think about the size of your hip flexor versus the size of the glutes and hamstrings. Now which muscles do you think can create more force and therefore more speed?

Second, we’re cueing them to do learn a movement that is in opposition to what generates speed. If an athlete learns at age 7, to lift their knees when they need a burst of speed, that improper cue will be hardwired into their brain. To unlearn that as a teen and try to do the opposite and drive down, that athlete will have a difficult time coordinating an entirely new way of running and will potentially have to take a step or two backwards. That’s why it is critical to learn proper form early and get an advantage over those who still aren’t getting the best instruction. So cue athletes to step over the opposite knee and drive the foot down into the ground, with the foot landing underneath the hip.

Patrick Beith, CSCS, PES,USATF Lv. Being a sport that is constantly on the go, your fitness level and strength plays an important part in your game, however a high skill level on the ball and good knowledge of the game are also essential.

Football is a sport that requires a multitude of athletic abilities, aim to make improvements in the following to improve your game:

Explosive acceleration and fast sprinting speed.

Muscular endurance and strength in the lower body.

Muscular balance and high levels of neuromuscular co-ordination.

Body awareness and agility, the ability to know where your body is, and be able to move it.

Discipline to take orders and decisions, as well as putting the team first.

Good flexibility to avoid injury, football players are prone to poor hamstring flexibility.

Correct balance between your quadriceps and hamstrings, as well as strength imbalances between your left and right leg.

Your fitness training should take the following form

Speed work

Look at the plyometric circuit to developing explosive power, aim to do this circuit no more than once a week, and certainly not on days before a match,as this type of circuit takes a few days to recover from.

Shuttle sprints, most sprints last for between 6 and 15 meters in a match, so look at this distance for your training. When training for a marathon, for example, you would start out with short runs, and gradually increase your mileage each week as you build up endurance. You may work on sprints to increase speed, but overall the goal is to run further or for a longer period of time to get ready for the event. When training for an open water swim or triathlon, you must do much more than just swim more laps each time you hop in the pool.

First of all, you have to understand that racing any distance over about 200 yards consists of using a combination of aerobic endurance and anaerobic endurance. Aerobic means ‘with oxygen.’ During aerobic work the body is working at a level where demands for oxygen and fuel can be met by the body’s intake. Anaerobic means ‘without oxygen.’ During anaerobic work, involving maximum effort, the body is working so hard that the demands for oxygen and fuel exceed the rate of supply and the muscles have to rely on stored reserves of fuel. Anaerobic training is generally attained at around 75% of maximum heart rate.

Interval training is used to describe the system of multiple repeat swims used in most swim training programs. An example is a set of 10 repeats of 100’s at 80% effort with 10-20 seconds rest between swims. The best way to improve aerobic endurance is through short rest periods. The most effective aerobic fitness training occurs when a swimmer begins the next repeat with their breathing and heart rate still considerably elevated from the previous swim. This condition causes physiological systems to remain overloaded for the entire set of repeats, including both the rest and work periods.

Example of a typical aerobic set:

10 x 100’s on 1:40 interval

This means swimming ten 100-yard swims within 1 minute, 40 seconds, including rest. If you finish the 100-yard swim in 1:20, you get 20 seconds rest. If you finish in 1:35, you get 5 seconds rest.

Anaerobic fitness is also an important part of your training, although it should not be emphasized often when preparing for an Olympic distance, Half Ironman, or Ironman-distance triathlon. Effective anaerobic fitness improvement is done in two ways. One is short sprints at race pace with short rest periods, which allow your body to become used to lactic acid buildup. The second is through speed work: short sprints with plenty of rest.

Examples of typical anaerobic training sets:

1) 20 x 25’s on :25
2) 20 x 25’s on 1:00

In set #1, you are training your body to finish a race strong, with lactic acid buildup. This type of set should not be done more than once per week. In set #2, you are building up your speed. For distance athletes, this is only needed about once every 2 weeks at the most.

Keep in mind that no training should be done at the expense of technique! There is never a point where you should cut drills completely out of your workout. If you are a true beginner, take a few lessons before you begin your training program. With the right instructor this can be one of the most valuable things you can do in training for a triathlon. Will you sprint, saunter, or sway? The answer probably depends on how you evaluate the previous weeks of 2006.

Sprint -- If you still have items on your 2006 to do list and your realistic goals have yet to be achieved, you can still make this year a truly great one. There is time to draw up a plan and sprint to the finish. It is amazing how much can be accomplished when you decide to just do it. Sprinting requires:

Vision – A minds eye photo of what the situation will be on December 31

Mission – A written statement of commitment

Decision – to step out

Saunter –If you are on target to achieve the goals you set for 2006. You may elect to saunter. Give yourself the gift of a steady leisurely pace to the year’s end. Take your time, enjoy the journey and savor every moment. Sauntering requires:

Contentment – with most of your outcomes

Conviction – that you are on the right course

Contemplation – of the next achievements for which you will strive.

Sway – If you didn’t set goals for 2006 or if you can’t remember what they were, you probably swayed your way through past weeks and will do so for the rest. Swaying is ok when you don’t care where you are going or how long it takes to get there. Swaying requires:

Shortsightedness – a lack of context for living each day

Confusion – unclear values and objectives

A broken watch

The count down is on, one step at a time…. Sprint,Saunter or Sway….which will you do this day?

http://www.jimgustafson.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jim_Gustafson

Top 10 - Reasons You Need A Girlfriend Getaway

I'm sure you have a million reasons why you can't possibly get away for a day or two with the girls--you have that covered. What we will go over in this article is why a girlfriend getaway is not a luxury but a necessity in todays soceity where women are expected to multi-task from dusk to dawn (not to mention all the stuff we have figured out how to do while we are sleeping).

Top 10 Reasons You Need A Girlfriend Getaway

1.You have something to celebrate! Be it a special birthday (29, AGAIN!) a great new job, or you have recently unloaded a heavy weight (boyfriend, husband or those 10 extra lbs. you‘ve been carrying around) what better way to celebrate than with the women who probably helped you get to where you are today.

2.It’s time to branch out and try something different. You’ve had countless days of the same routine; wake up, feed the kids, get ready for work, commute, work, come home, make dinner…you get the picture. Time to change your routine even if it is only for 2 or 3 days. Trust me you will feel recharged and re-energized maybe upon return you will appreciate your routine or maybe you’ll tweak it a little.

3.Travel with no extra baggage meaning boyfriend/husband and kids. Yes they are the center of your universe but taking time to charge your battery will make you a stronger person and that helps everyone

4.You are way to serious, responsible and you frown too much. It is so fun to let your hair down and it also gives your frown lines a rest!

5.It will give you the push you need to take yourself out of the comfort zone. You would think about rock climbing or zip lining on a work day in lovely suburbia but put you and a couple of friend on a resort weekend in Sedona and you’d be game for anything. Especially if you are promised an hour long massage when it is over.

6.Release yourself from the guilt. It’s hard to feel guilty for doing something for yourself and being self-indulgent if you are not actually looking at the people you feel you are neglecting. Try not to phone home either! You deserve this and there is no need to make excuses!

7.Being a woman in today’s society is a marathon not a sprint--most women will spend 17 years caring for children and 18 years helping an elderly parent. Is 1 weekend a year going to hurt? No, in fact it will help you build reserves for the rest of the race.

8.You could potentially be saving over $1,000. The cost of 1 therapy session twice a month for 1 year could be as much as $1,700. Plan a Girlfriend Getaway on a budget as small as $200 can be just as therapeutic and just way more fun.

9.You need the sleep. According to a 2004 Harris Poll conducted for Tylenol PM, almost 70% of the women polled said they get 6 hours of sleep or less per night during the work week. A couple days away from the rat race with the girls would provide a great opportunity to catch up on those zzzzzz’s.

10.You don’t have time for all the self-help and how-to books that are piling up on your nightstand. Instead of spending all those hours pouring over books, go away with the girls for great conversations. It could fill a book all the advice, tips and life lessons your girlfriends have to offer. The good news is - you can get results in the comfort of your own home with some simple home exercises.

Bodyweight training CAN be effective. It CAN be a substitute for weights, if necessary. Training using your own body weight as a source of resistance is a time tested technique to get results fast.

Here are the ten best bodyweight training exercises that give you great workouts and great results - without the gym.

1. Supine Pull-Ups (works major muscles in back, shoulders, and biceps) Use two chairs and a pole - a heavy broom handle works well. WARNING: make sure the chairs are stable and that the broom handle is strong enough to take your weight. You could be SEVERELY injured if the pole were to break or the chairs to slip. Lie on your back underneath a low bar. Grab the bar with a wide overhand grip. Pull up. Lower and repeat for 6-8 reps.

2. Supine Biceps Pull-Ups (biceps, some back) Use the same chairs-and-pole arrangement from #1. Sit underneath a low bar. Grab the bar with a reverse grip (palms facing you), hands about shoulder-width apart. Keeping your body upright, pull up until your chin just clears the bar. Focus on the tension in your biceps, trying to relax the rest of your body. 6-8 reps.

3. Push-Ups (chest, triceps, shoulders) The key when targeting the chest with Push-Ups is the direction in which your elbows travel. As with bench presses, the elbows must move AWAY FROM THE BODY to target your chest, and be kept CLOSE TO THE BODY to target the triceps. Place each hand just outside your shoulders, slightly behind the line of your shoulders. Hands pointing straight ahead, upper body rigid as a board. 6-15 reps.

4. Tent Push-Ups (primarily upper chest) Assume the position in #3, but walk your feet forward so your body is bent at the waist, and your hips are up high in the air. Bending at the elbows, lower yourself until your nose touches the floor. Push up. Repeat. 6-8 reps.

5. Push-Ups, Triceps Position (you guessed it - triceps, and some chest) Begin with fingers facing forward in position from #3, hands slightly LESS than shoulder width apart. Lower your body to the floor keeping arms in against your body. Push up. 6-8 reps.

6. Triceps Dips With Chairs With your hands behind your back, support yourself on your palms at the edge of a chair. Your hands should be touching; your elbows should angle outward. Dipping in this position relieves a lot of stress on the elbow and shoulder joints. Lower yourself, keeping your back close to the chair. Bend your elbows back and slightly to the sides. Keep your body angled slightly forward throughout the motion. Press yourself up until your arms are straight. 6-15 reps.

7. One-Legged Squats (front thighs, glutes, hamstrings) Stand perpendicular to a wall, about arm's length away from it. Extend your arm out to the side and place your palm against the wall at just under shoulder-height. Angle the foot farthest from the wall at 45 degrees. Bend the other leg back. Keeping your body upright, lower yourself until the non-weight-bearing knee is close to (but not touching) the ground. Support yourself by leaning against the wall. Press yourself back up to starting position. Repeat 6-8 reps.

8. One-Legged Hamstring Bridges Lie on your back with one leg extended, heel on the ground. Hold the other leg up off the floor. Pushing through your heel, flex your hamstrings to lift your body. Lower and repeat for 8-10 reps. Repeat with other leg. You can control the resistance and the degree to which the glutes contribute by changing the distance you place your heel relative to your butt.

9. Lunges Begin the lunge by taking a large step forward, keeping your head up and torso erect. Lower your hips and allow your trailing knee to drop to a point just before it touches the floor - never let the knee touch the floor. To return to the start, push off with your forward leg and then step back when the knee is completely straight. Repeat with other leg, 10-15 reps each leg.

10. Stair Running Stair running isn't usually considered a resistance exercise, and in fact, it makes hefty demands on your cardiovascular system. However, it also does an incredible job of conditioning the lower body. If your knees are in good shape, try doing 10-20 one-story sprints, preferably two stairs at a time. As you get stronger, work up the number slowly, keep one hand on the stair rail to catch yourself if you lose your balance.Give yourself a bigger challenge by wearing a backpack filled with nice and heavy books.

To read reviews on home exercise equipment and learn how to choose the best exercise gadgets for your needs, visit Nitin Chhoda's new site guide to exercise equipment

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nitin_Chhoda

Top 10 - Greatest Sprint Races in History

1. Atlanta 1996. Men's 100-meter Olympic final.

It was the most exciting 10 seconds in sports history. The fastest sprinter of that time Donovan Bailey was the last one who left the blocks at the track of overcrowded stadium in Atlanta. And nobody in the world had time to understand that he could simply lose the main race of his life, because during the next ten seconds everybody's eyes were chained to the Olympic track, where the fastest man ever was showing a magnificent blend of explosive power and awesome athleticism.

Donovan Bailey crossed the finish line first to win 100-metre final in 9.84 seconds. It was not just the new world record, this record was set in Olympic final by the man who had the worst start among all finalists. Step by step he passed other sprinters and by finish line he leaved them all behind. If you have never seen this race, than just go to video section at www.sprintic.com and do it now.

2. Atlanta 1996. Men's 200-meter Olympic final.

Michael Johnson not just broke the 200-meter world record, he shattered it, leaving other competitors many steps behind by finish line. Even today his time of 19.32 seconds seems fantastic. But it's not only about the time, it is also about the look on Michael's face when he saw it was 19.32. And every time people see the photo of that moment they can feel his passion.

3. Seoul 1988. Men's 100-meter Olympic final.

Canadian Ben Johnson recorded a new world best of 9.79 secs and he stormed away from his arch-rival Carl Lewis. However, three days later it was revealed that Johnson had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and was disqualified.

4. Seville 1999. Men's 400-meter world record.

In retaining the world title in a time of 43.18 seconds Michael Johnson redefined the parameters of the one-lap event.

With the staggered start, it took a while for his performance to become apparent. But, running in his trademark hand-made golden spikes, he sailed off the top bend, leaving his rivals metres adrift.

For once, he pushed himself all the way to the line, roared on by a capacity crowd of 50,000 who gasped in astonishment when the time came up on the electronic scoreboard.

5. Indianapolis 1988. Women's 100-meter world record.

Florence Griffith-Joyner stunned the world when - known as a 200 m runner - she ran a new 100 m World Record of 10.49 in the quarter-finals of the US Olympic Trials. This record stands unchallenged to this day, and it will surprise no one if it remains in the books for another 20 years.

6. Seoul 1988. Women's 200-meter Olympic final.

Florence Griffith-Joyner set world record for 200 meters. Nobody could beat her time of 21.34 since then.

7. Athens 1999. Maurice Greene breaks the world record in 100 meters.

In 1999 Maurice Greene set new 100-meter world record of 9.79 seconds, beating Donovan Bailey's standing world record of 9.84, and lowering it by the largest margin since the advent of electronic timing. Also he proved that man could run 100-meter dash under 9.80 seconds without taking drugs.

8. Canberra 1985. Women's 400-meter world record.

During her career Marita Koch collected a remarkable 16 world records in outdoor sprints, as well as 14 world records in indoor events. On Otober 6, 1985 she set the current 400-meter world record of 47.60 seconds. 20 years ago from now nobody among the best female athletes could even think about such result.

9. Athens 2005. Men's 100-meter world record.

Asafa Powell set a world record in the men's 100 meters, clocking 9.77 seconds at the Tsiklitiria Super Grand Prix meeting. So far it was the fastest time ever.

10. Barcelona 1992. Men's 4x100m relay world record.

Mike Marsh, Leroy Burrell, Dennis Mitchell, Carl Lewis. Exactly in this order the fastest American athletes were running their laps at Olympic stadium in Barcelona. The American team completed the race in 37.40. This record still stands today.

Alex Ray is owner of Sprintic Magazine.

Sprintic Magazine provides information about track and field running through news, articles, training descriptions, championships and Olympic Games history.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Alex_Ray

Make A Spring; For Sprint Cellular Phones

For the longest time Sprint was known for it’s usage as a home phone provider, well now all that has changed. Sprint has partnered with Nextel, so all their phones are commonly called Spring Nextel cellular phones. Sprint use to offer just, home phone service and internet, but now and for quite some time they have offered cell phones. Sprint Nextel as it is called today, is climbing the charts , they recently bought out 3 small wireless providers, so what’s next for Sprint Nextel?

What’s offered?

With Spring and Nextel cellular phones you can get prepaid, plans, and contract phones. Nextel commonly offered the walkie talkie feature on their phones, they led the way for this break through. Soon Sprint and all other cell phone providers were rushing to add this ability to their products. So now you can purchase a cell phone from Sprint that has walkie talkie capabilities.

Plans?

Sprint offers free sprint to sprint customer calling, with the merge of Nextel and Sprint now all Nextel and Sprint customers can call each other without worrying about charges. Sprint also offers free nights and weekends on most of their plans, as well as plans that allow free incoming calls, and will only charge you for outgoing calls. On some plans going over your minutes does not cost by per minute but by every 30 minutes you go over you are charged overages.

Sprint, for me or not?

Spring cellular phones offer quite a bit of perks, they have excellent coverage, and who can beat free calling to another person with the same company as you? A downside to Sprint Nextel phones is that fewer handsets are offered than you might find with another provider. Sprint makes up for this with great call quality and the ability to try your phone for 14 days before deciding to keep your phone. Sprint’s other down side is that they use a PCS technology when tends to run on a higher frequency than others, and therefore may have shorter ranges than another company might.

For More Information on Sprint Cellular Phones Please Visit Cell Phones Central

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Renee_Flowers

Adult ADD; Become a Sprint Racer to Get Things Done

Stephanie Frank is an internationally know speaker and author of "The Accidental Millionaire," and Tellman Knudson is CEO of OvercomeEverything, Inc. Would you like to run a four-minute mile? Would you like to know how to get that done? Well perhaps I can enlighten you a bit. You see the mile run at the four-minute mile World Class Level is literally a sprint the whole way.

In fact the world was shocked last year when a High School Athlete broke the 4-minute mile. Wow, very impressive. How do I know? Well because I couldn’t do it in high school, although I got close enough to go to the next step. I tried some more in college until I finally ran a 4:01.7 Mile, of course there were conflicting timers that day and another clock had me at 4:00.9, which I like better giving me the opportunity to say I ran a four-minute mile myself in college.

Some people call the mile run a long-distance race, but long about my sophomore year in High School, I realized this was utter hokum indeed. You see if you truly want to compete the mile run is a sprint the whole way. If you want to win all the races you have to treat it as such.

At the College Level, we all knew it was a sprint and laughed at anyone who said otherwise. You get out fast and ramp up to your top speed and then hold it like that for 4-minutes or slightly under and the best man wins.Well let me tell you what my friend the mile-run is no Distance Race and that is Fact.

"Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tank forum board. There is a point at which you are in oxygen debt and your body is taking all your oxygen it can to give it to your muscles. You brain still demands some, but you can tell that it ain’t getting much more than is necessary and certainly not enough to turn on a light bulb.

When everything is working perfectly and you are winning the race or about to make that final kick to secure the victory that is owed to you for all your pre-race training, strategy and skill; you will know it. As you come off that last turn and before you even bother to look up to see the tape, which you are going to dive your head into at full speed with your arms swept back like a fight jet and exhaling that final breath in trade for the fresh sweat breath of victory; you must slingshot your body off the curve.

How do you do this? Well you become one with the track and fell all the forces of nature and balance between them and accelerate to full speed plus leaning forward and using that turn, they one you own and are one with. Each and every step is perfectly placed and your body leans into an impossible position to hold without the full momentum of your stride. That is when becoming one with the track will insure your victory as no one else can be that close to all things on the way to victory. Stocks opened markedly higher in the first session of 2007 as investors cheered news that Home Depot Inc’s CEO resigned after years of lackluster performance, and that the holiday shopping season had been stronger than expected.

On Wednesday the DOW Jones touched an all-time intra-day high of 12,580.35. Stocks finished the day mixed after the latest Federal Reserve minutes showed worries about inflation and the scale of the housing sector pullback.

Fortunately, the Fed’s minutes date from December 12. Unfortunately, investors were looking for some fresh news, and instead the release of the minutes sapped strength from the market on a day that had seen triple digit gains.

For the most part, investors of every ilk are pretty bullish about 2007. Unlike last year, when fears over global imbalances, energy costs and rising inflation made most commentators sound a note of caution, this year, most seem to be surprised that we made it through 2006 intact – and see no reason why the current bull market shouldn’t continue.

One Wall Street economist said Wednesday’s pullback was overblown given recent data.

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense to react to something that is three weeks old and doesn’t incorporate the data that we got between now and then. The manufacturing data today suggests things were OK as we headed into the end of the year,” he said.

Which makes total sense. Even though most economic forecasters are quick to point out that ‘past performance is no clear indicator of future performance’ (Dr. Phil of course states the opposite – who does one believe?), they almost all rely exclusively on very recent history to inform their opinions of what’s likely to happen in the coming year.

And what does our most recent economic history tell us? It tells us that 2007 will be a good year for small-cap and penny stocks. Domestically, small caps beat large caps, with the S&P Small Cap 600 advancing 15.1%; the Penny Stock Index advanced 9.3% since August (when the Index first began monitoring penny stocks).

Said another economic strategist, “The 1990s belonged to the large-caps, this decade, thus far, belongs to smaller companies,”

Still, even if large caps do outperform their penny stock peers, that doesn’t mean penny stocks will not have an exceptionally strong year. Large cap gains do not sap strength on the backs of penny stocks.

If anything, blue-chip optimism often means investors are more willing to invest in smaller, riskier stocks. Which isn’t a bad idea, small caps stocks defied the experts once again in 2006 and outperformed their large cap peers; for the seventh year in a row.

So while I cannot - with Magic 8-Ball certainty – predict the markets in 2007, I think things look good for penny stock investors. The current bull market has entered its 6th year and there’s no reason to think it will not continue.

As one economic advisor noted, despite going through a mid-cycle slowdown, there is no reason to think we are heading into a recession. With interest rates and gas prices stable, consumers should continue to spend and send the economy higher.

While many economists think U.S. blue chips will see returns of about 8%, our recent history shows us that penny stocks should, once again, outshine their mid and larger-cap peers.

A seasoned investor with a keen interest in international business and current affairs, John Whitefoot has been working alongside Peter Leeds for the last several years. A recent study from South Africa shows that this technique slows sprint performance of cyclists ( Journal of Applied Physiology , January 2006).

Competitive bicycle racers ate a high fat or high-carbohydrate diet for six days followed by a high-carbohydrate diet for one day and completed time trials on their bikes. Then they ate the opposite diet for six days followed by a high carbohydrate diet for one day and repeated their time trial. Diets did not affect their times or power output for 100 kilometers (62 miles), but the high fat diet slowed their sprint performance over one kilometer (0.6 miles.)

Muscles get their energy from sugar and fat stored in muscles and coming into muscles from the bloodstream. The limiting factor in how fast an endurance athlete can exercise is the time it takes to transport oxygen from the blood in the lungs to the muscle. Muscles require far more oxygen to burn fat than to burn sugar for energy. So when a muscle runs out of its stored sugar, called glycogen, it becomes less efficient, hurts, is difficult to co-ordinate and slows you down. Many previous studies show that it doesn’t make any difference what an trained endurance athlete eats on the week before competition because the muscles of trained athletes store the most glycogen when they reduce training for several days, regardless of what they eat. Any difference in the muscle and fat concentration inside muscles becomes unimportant during endurance competition.

This study shows that a high-fat diet before sprint competition hurts performance. A high fat diet causes muscles to burn a higher percentage of fat. Using fat for energy requires more oxygen than carbohydrates do, and how fast you can sprint 0.6 miles on a bicycle is limited by how rapidly you can deliver oxygen to muscles.

Dr. Gabe Mirkin has been a radio talk show host for 25 years and practicing physician for more than 40 years; he is board certified in four specialties, including sports medicine. Drinking water curbs your hunger, hydrates your body and nourishes you from the inside out, including your skin. Aim for half your body weight in ounces per day. i.e. if you weigh 150 lbs, you would aim to drink 75 ounces of water per day.

2. For faster fat loss and a stronger heart, try sprint interval training. The basic format of sprint interval training is sprint/walk/sprint/walk, etc. Pick a stretch of road that is flat for 50 yards - sprint the 50 yards, walk back slowly, repeat - do this 10 times. Make sure you're warmed up before you start sprinting and that you warm down when you're done. Sprint interval training boosts your metabolism, burns more fat, and takes less time to complete.

3. Stay away from sugar! When you consume sugar, it causes your body to release insulin - and insulin causes your body to store fat. That's why those fat-free cookies with extra sugar are actually causing you to gain weight. Read the ingredients label and stay away from products heavy in sugar and high fructose corn syrup. "Healthy" breakfast cereals and bars are notorious for being high in these two ingredients.

4. Add more of the following foods to your diet: whole grains, olive oil, eggs, natural peanut butter, fish, poultry, berries, apples, almonds, protein powder and water. These foods will help you burn more fat, stay in shape and better your health.

5. Add weight training to your exercise routine. Adding muscle to your body increases your life span, makes you stronger and burns fat. If you're looking to tone up, use a weight that you can lift 8-12 times; if you're looking to add bulk, use a weight you can lift 4-6 times. Weight train 2-3 times per week and keep your weight training sessions to 45 minutes max.

6. At a minimum, add a quality multivitamin to your diet and fish oil softgels (omega-3 fatty acids). Most people don't get a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals from foods alone so it's important you compliment your healthy eating habits with a strong multi. The fish oil softgels are important because most people's diets are severely lacking in omega-3 fatty acids and this is suspected to be a contributing factor to many health diseases, including obesity. Fish oil softgels are the easiest way to add omega-3's to your diet - consume 2,000 to 3,000 mg of omega-3's per day.

7. Add more Wild Alaskan salmon to your diet. It's extremely high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and low in fat - an incredibly healthy combination. And Wild Alaskan salmon is very low in mercury, the one problem with regular salmon.

8. Stay away from foods that contain hydrogenated oils and processed foods altogether. Hydrogenated oils, or trans fats, wreck havoc on your body and some states are even banning them. Read the ingredients of the food you are eating - it will indicate if it contains hydrogenated oils - and if it does, toss it! Processed foods are the chemically-altered, packaged foods like many of the foods targeted towards kids nowadays. Usually you can tell a food is processed if the ingredients show a list of chemicals a mile long.

9. A simple way to keep your weight under control is stop eating before you're full. Portion control is an easy way to make sure you don't over eat and gain weight. If you continuously eat until your uncomfortably full, you'll consume too many calories and stretch your stomach out, causing you to eat more often.

10. Give yoga a try because you'll be amazed at the difference it makes when your body is limber and flexible, plus it will help reduce your chances of injury. Yoga consists of 15-20 minutes of deep stretching and usually meditation. Your body will feel younger and you'll have less stress - combine this with cardio, weight training and a healthy diet, and in 12 weeks you'll be in the best shape of your life.

Ryan Cote is the owner of WeightLoss-Programs-Reviewed.com, a website that reviews the top 5 best weight loss programs. Are you into one? Are you a big fan? If YES then you might find Sports Physical Therapy as a hot choice for a career.

Sports Physical Therapy is among the fastest growing specialty areas in physical therapy. Widely know as Sports Medicine, sports physical therapy has been an age-long practicum for human athletes. Competitors’ sports therapists ranging from football to gymnastics have utilized a variety of approaches to help maintain physical fitness and to assist in the recovery process of their athlete-patients when injury occurs to a joint, muscle, ligament, or tendon. But did you know that the earliest sports physical therapy practitioners are professional athletes themselves?

Being a great athlete requires knowing how to take care of your body. That’s how sports med developed. Athletes attended to their physical health as well as to those of their team mates. Today, sports physical therapy has evolved into a distinctive specialty as it now focus on the effects of any form of exercise or physical activity aside from basic prevention or enhancement of physical performance to help injured athletes recover.

The field has grown expansively as more and more people in general, not just athletes, starts to become aware of their health as reflected in their fit bodies. The role of the sports therapists has become more and more important as they are called upon to help people achieve optimal health and peak physical performance by designing fitness activities, exercise programs for schools and health clubs, and special conditioning programs, while also teaching people in general some special knowledge and skills on injury prevention and strength, endurance, or agility training.

The Sports Medicine term for Sports Physical Therapy is in fact not secluded to the treatment of only athletes. Sports Physical Therapy is a treatment of anyone involved in physical exercise. Sports physical therapy is more accurately defined as healthcare for anyone who plays sports as well as those who perform exercise. This means that sports physical therapy, aside from its primary focus on acute/chronic injury prevention, also includes management of medical problems caused by exercise, treatment of chronic disease with exercise, and even specific exercise needs for children or women.

Aside from hospitals and clinics, sports physical therapists also work for community health centers, consulting groups, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, private sports medicine clinics, fitness centers, sports facilities, organizations for the handicapped, government health agencies, home health agencies, and schools, including high schools and colleges. Many sports physical therapy practitioners are also technically self-employed in a private practice even though they work in much the same way and setting. But forget that you can work privately for a ‘Beckham’ – you’re making more people fit!

Milos Pesic is a successful webmaster and owner of popular and comprehensive Physical Therapy information site. For more articles and resources on Physical Therapy related topics, Physical Therapy exercises and much more visit his site at:

=>http://physical-therapy.need-to-know.net/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Milos_Pesic

The Variety in Triathlon Training Can Help You Lose Weight:

Training for and competing in a triathlon is an excellent way to help you lose weight. A triathlon consists of a swim, a bike ride and a run. Participants complete each leg of the event starting with the swim leg and concluding with the run leg. The distance of each leg varies. There are very short events for novice athletes and longer events that are ideal for well conditioned amateur and professional athletes. Typical triathlon events include sprint events, Olympic distance events and Ironman distance events. Sprint events do not have set distances and may vary from one course to the next. The distances for an Olympic distance triathlon are 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run, and the distances for an Ironman distance triathlon are 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. This article will focus on how tri-athletes enjoy an improved metabolism because of the cross training and speed work that helps them prepare for triathlons. While the information in this article will provide insight into the type of triathlon training that best facilitates weight loss, be sure to consult with your doctor before beginning your training program or taking supplements. This will help ensure you are fit enough to undertake this type of training and that any supplements you are taking will not interfere with prescribed medications.

Cross Training Keeps Your Metabolism High

One of the key reasons training for a triathlon is such an effective way to lose weight is the cross training that is necessary to prepare for competitions. Cyclists often focus solely on biking during the competition, while swimmers or runners likewise focus almost exclusively on their sport of choice. However, since a triathlon involves all three of these sports, tri-athletes have to concentrate on training for all three disciplines during the racing season. If you opt to train for a triathlon, you will find yourself enjoying the benefits of cross training while you prepare yourself for the swim, bike and run portions of the event.

As part of your triathlon training, consider training for an endurance cycling event such as a century ride. A century ride is a 100-mile bike ride, and most participants who are planning to participate in this type of event spend the vast majority, if not all, of their training time cycling to prepare for this event. While this might be good for your weight loss goals initially, as your body becomes accustomed to your workout schedule, you will begin burning fewer calories each time you ride your bike. This is due to improved muscle efficiency. This efficiency is ideal for improving your performance and your cardiovascular health, since as your muscles become more efficient, they require less fuel, but as a result, your weight loss will plateau, and you may become frustrated with your fitness routine.

Now consider training for a triathlon. You will have to prepare yourself to complete the swim leg, bike leg and run leg of the event. As a result, you will likely split your training time among the three disciplines to ensure you are adequately prepared for the event. By cross training and preparing yourself for three different events, you will prevent your muscles from becoming overly efficient. This will cause a significant metabolism boost during and after each training session. This metabolic boost will help you continue to lose weight while you train for your triathlon.

Speed Work Can Also Boost Metabolism

If you are training for your first triathlon, you will likely select a sprint or Olympic distance event. These races are significantly longer than the Ironman distance triathlons that many people associate with the sport. Shorter events such as these are ideal for novice athletes who are hoping to lose weight and enjoy participation in a competitive sport. Danskin even hosts a series of sprint distance triathlons for women entirely to encourage participation in the sport of triathlon. For more information on the Danskin Triathlon series, visit: http://www.danskin.com/triathlon/triathlon.html.

Since you will likely be training for a shorter event, you will also likely incorporate some interval training into your swim, bike and run training sessions. Interval training essentially involves alternating short sprints with recovery periods where you are swimming, biking or running at a moderate pace that allows your heart rate to return to a more manageable level of approximately 50%-60% of your maximum heart rate. During the sprint intervals, you will be working at closer to 90% of your maximum heart rate. Your maximum heart rate can be roughly calculated by subtracting your age from 220. However, there are more effective ways to determine this number and you may wish to attempt them if you are not satisfied with the number determined from the basic formula. If you own a heart rate monitor with advanced features, it may include a fit test to help you determine this number. While you are training at a higher intensity, your metabolism increases greatly both during and after the training session. This increased metabolism can help you lose weight.

Supplement Your Diet to Keep Your Metabolism High

While triathlon training can help to keep your metabolism high, your diet can also have an impact on your metabolism. Making wise nutritional choices such as choosing fruits, vegetables and whole grains over processed foods, and incorporating supplements into your diet can also improve your metabolism.Visit www.Meltorin.com for more information about Meltorin, a metabolism-boosting supplement that can help you achieve your weight loss goals.

Written by the V-Team, courtesy of Kamau Austin, publisher. Not so I tell you, not even close. The 800-meter is an absolute high-performance race and it is more like a sprint than the 400 meter in fact. It is most definitely a sprint for two-solid laps. The laps from hell, where you give it all you have and then try to finish up at the end with your muscles burning and your feet on fire.

Indeed on a reslite or tartan track you will feel like your feet are on fire and while racing you will feel the pain shoot up your muscles signaling to your brain; Capitan, Scotty here, we are at maximum warp, I do not think the engines can take much more of this. The 800-meter is a punishment worse than any of these snivelers at Guantamo Bay call pain or torture.

It is a self induced contest of wills, where one opponent tests their strength of character and pain tolerance against another and when one man cannot handle it they drop back and the race goes on, they are out of the race. Actually one miss stride or bad move and its over for you and if you get boxed in for more than a few seconds the race leaves you along with the rest in the back of the pack and you can never catch up.

No the 800-meter run is now pansy take it easy and pace yourself distance race. The 800-meter is for the best of the best and those who will not acknowledge pain and commit themselves to go the distance and for the winner victory is sweet as can be as they rip their spikes off their feet to allow for cooling of the heat of friction and then try to stride out a bit only to collapse to ground knowing they won and savoring the victory. For the losers, they may race another day, but for today the winner of the 800-meter is more than a mere sprinter, they are the ultimate sprinter.

"Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tankforum board. If you have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives.come think with Lance in the Online Think Tank and solve the problems of the World; www.WorldThinkTank.net/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lance_Winslow

Sprint Ringtones For Free ;From Past to Present

Just five years ago, the concept of bringing your phone with you wherever you went was something that only the affluent of society could actually do. Now, even small children are seen holding their cell phones and talking to their friends on a daily basis. One of the most important aspects of a cell phone owner is to be able to download and play their favorite ringtones. Whether you are looking for Nokia, Cingular, or Sprint ringtones for free, acquiring the best ringtones for you is a goal that every cell phone owner should have.

Typically, you can get musical ringtones either by purchasing from cell phone providers or by downloading from the websites that provide a free download for a ringtone. Usually there are customized ringtones with any of the cell phones. However, to have the latest tunes, you must purchase them.

Ringtones have actually bypassed the intended purpose of the cell phone. No longer are cell phones simply used just for communication purposes. They have become a fashion trend reflecting the personality of the person. The ringtone has become the fire and the passion behind this image change, greater even then the use of logos, sms features, and animations found on most all cell phones.

Free ringtones are usually used as incentives to get you to buy a monthly service that provides ringtones for you. This service charges your cell phone bill directly, which you will see on your statement when it comes the following month. If you have one of the leading cell phone providers such as Nokia or Sprint, ringtones for free download are often much better than many of the smaller cell phone providing companies.

Just be aware that many criminal businesses will actually charge your for a monthly service that does not exist, so be sure that the company that gives you the free download it is a reputable one that you have heard of.Also, be aware that just because an advertisement will mention well known cell phone companies, do not give your credit card info. sprint ringtones for free, or any other name brand mentioned, may just be a ploy to get your hard earned money. Whether it was 5 years ago, or today, you still must be careful when downloading anything, even a ringtone, for free.

For more information on how to get sprint ringtones for free, please visit: http://www.free-ringtone-guide.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Kohler

How to Download Free-Ringtones for Sprint PCS and Nextel Users

If I have a Sprint or Nextel cell phone, can I download free ringtones? The answer is yes, but I found that depending on which type you have, things can vary. Apparenly, the situation with the Sprint and Nextel ringtones is a bit different. So, depending on for which type of phone you want to download free ringtones, there are things to consider.

With most sprint cell phones, you can accept a downloaded ringtone sent by SMS. Originally, when it came to the download of free ringtones, only Sprint had access to the format that needed to be used to send the ringtone. However, the format Sprint uses is now better known and there are actually places, besides Sprint, where you can download free ringtones for your Sprint phone. The fact is, though, that the free ringtones that are available for download may not work with every Sprint PCS phone available. The only thing you can really do is go out, download free ringtones, and then try them to see if they work on the phone you have. The important fact is that it is an available service now by several different websites and services, and not just a Sprint service as was the case when they were not releasing their ringtone delivery format.

Historically, Nextel, which is owned by Motorola, has had a good reputation when it comes to downloadable ringtones. Motorola has allowed people, in the past, to download free ringtones from wireless internet connections. So, it should stand to reason that Nextel phones, for the most part, will play downloaded free ringtones without a problem. The best thing you can probably do is just download some free ringtones and try them out on your Nextel phone. In most cases, I think you will find that they do indeed work effectively.

So what happens if you try to download free ringtones and they don’t work? Well, unfortunately there is very little you can do in such a situation. Like computers, cell phones become out of date almost every month, so it is possible you will get a cell phone and then find two weeks later that your friends all have phones that do things yours will not. In that case, really all you can do is either accept the ringtones on your phone or get a different phone. So, be sure that before you buy a phone that it will accept any downloaded free ringtones if you think that is something you will want to be able to do.

Cell phones are a big part of our lives today. They do amazing things like take pictures and read email, but what if you want to customize the phone to show off your personality? What if you want it so that when a phone rings you know if it is yours or not right away? The answer is ringtone downloads. If you have a Sprint or Nextel phone, there are likely ways you can download free ringtones. At the very least, you owe yourself the time it takes to give it a try and make your ringtone unique.

If you would like the latest information on ringtones, or find more of my personal articles like the one you just read, visit my technology blog.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Christopher_Luck

Sprint Pci Wireless :Getting It Right

Fairly recently Sprint PCS Wireless made headlines in USA Today for offering credit to its business customers for lulls in its nationwide network. Lulls are explained as dropped calls, fast busy signals and other minor problems. However unlike its competitors, Sprint PCS Wireless made a bold offering of a refund for such problems, and some are customers receiving up to 30% of their monthly Sprint cell phone bills.

Such dedication to customer service is at least part of what has driven Sprint PCS Wireless to the top of the charts where it has a strong hold as the number 4 cell phone carrier in the U.S. with around 20 million subscribers nationwide. One thing Sprint does have in common with other cell phone carriers is an interest in improving network design in order to be more accommodating to the most demanding consumers.

Sprint has a solid line of cell phones and cell phone calling plans which run the gamut in prices and offerings which help Sprint to achieve their goal. These plans range in price from $35.00 a month for a basic plan to a comprehensive 1-800 plan for under $100.00 a month. For instance Sprint's Free and Clear Nationwide plan at $35.00 a month gives you 300 peak minutes and unlimited nights and weekends with nationwide coverage. The cost and strength of coverage varies in major cities. Sprint offers a family plan, Sprint PCS Free and Clear Nationwide 700, for about $128.00 a month. This plan gives 700 shared minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. It costs an additional $20.00 a month for each additional line.

One of Sprint's most popular plans, Free and Clear (area wide), is perfect for those who rarely travel outside their calling area. The plan offers 1000 peak minutes and unlimited use on nights and weekends. If you travel outside of your calling area on a regular basis you may want to consider one of Sprint's PCS Free and Clear nationwide 1000 plans, at about $80.00 a month. You can choose a plan with 1000 peak minutes and unlimited nights and weekends or 3000 any time minutes which includes nights and weekends.

Take a look at Sprints PM6625 top of the line Nokia phones. This is one of the most complete phones available anywhere. The PM6625 has all the bells and whistles including VGA camera, full customization capability and even has infrared Port. Second on the list is the Sanyo SCP-8100, which includes a camera, is easy to use, can be customized with Sprint ring tones and is small and light weight. Third on the list of phones offered by Sprint is the Handsprint Treo 600, a true cell phone/palm top combination. With a reliable speaker phone, built in camera, Palm OS and more, this phone is great but rather expensive.

Building A Home-Based Business Is A Marathon, Not A Sprint

Over the last several years, in the course of helping thousands

of people start up home based businesses, I have seen the same

thing over and over again.

Once a person makes the decision to start a home based business

it's usually a time of high enthusiasm along with high, and

frequently unrealistic, expectations. As time marches on, the

enthusiasm begins to wane if they are not making as much money as

they had hoped as quickly as they wished. Often it's only after

a few weeks or months that I see people start to become

discouraged and, with that, their energy level declines and they

start slacking off on the work that is actually required to

develop a successful home based business.

It is a known fact that a majority of the people that undertake

a work at home business do not achieve real success. There are

several reasons for this, but I am firmly convinced that one of

the primary reasons is that these people get frustrated and do

not allow themselves sufficient time to become successful.

In the early going, one of the most difficult things about

developing a new home based business is dealing with the emotional

roller coaster that can result from the highs (successes) and lows

(temporary setbacks) you are almost certain to experience. Once

you have done the research and decided on a particular home based

business opportunity, you really need to focus on persistence and

realize that any real business will not just automatically become

successful in a matter of days or weeks. You should be prepared to

give it your best sustained effort for a minimum of 6 to 12 months

in order to begin to build a solid business base and start to

realize some good income.

Highs and lows were something that I began to notice when I first

started a home based business. I have many years of top level

management experience in "traditional" corporations and have

experienced lots of business cycles (corporate "ups and downs"),

but the natural "ups and downs" that occur in a home business

(particularly in the early stages) can be brutal from an

emotional standpoint if you don't prepare yourself in advance for

the fact that it is a basic law of nature...it will be a rocky

road until you have spent enough time and effort to build your

business to a level that sort of smoothes out the peaks and

valleys.

The impact of the highs and lows you will probably experience in

developing your home based business is amplified by the fact that

you are now in business on your own. You are the boss and get to

make all the decisions, but you are also on your own in dealing

with the frustrations that will occur along the way while you are

developing your business.

When working at home a person can, at times, experience a feeling

of isolation which is probably brought on by the lack of

interaction of a work force environment.

There can also be periods of doubt in the early going...gee, did

I pick a viable business opportunity?...am I doing the right

things to develop my business?...when will I start making a

profit?, and so on.

You are most likely going to experience the "two steps forward

and one step backward" syndrome and the ever-looming temptation

to become discouraged. However, keep in mind that as long

as you have more steps going forward than backward, you will

eventually get ahead! Simple, but often overlooked.

Relatively minor setbacks can seem huge in the early stages of

developing a work at home business and can really contribute to

some noticeable "mood swings". For example, if you are just

starting out and you have four customers/clients and you happen

to lose one...that's a 25% drop! However, if you fast-forward in

time to the point where you have hundreds of customers/clients

and you lose one...that's just a mere fraction of 1%! Exactly

the same event, just at a different point in time.

Hang in there and just keep on keepin' on.If you have chosen a

viable home business opportunity (one that has been around for

awhile and in which some other people are having success) you

will achieve success, but it takes time and there will be ups and

downs along the way. Remember the old saying..."it takes a long

time to become an overnight success".

Sprint-Triathlon For The Tough Hearted

Even the fittest and the toughest of the athletes do get some shares of pain during the triathlon race. Triathlon is simply a game of endurance. The only thing that one can do is to believe that somehow, he will be able to reach the finish line. One has to battle with distances, with fatigue and with lack of strength. And it is likely that at the end, he'll be having thoughts of quitting but his inner self will convince him that's its already too late to quit.

Sprint triathlon, like those of Iron Man or half-Iron competitions are composed of three disciplined events namely, swimming, biking and running. Sprint, being a smaller scale as compared with other variations may not require you the same endurance other types have but still it requires some great will power. In usual cases, sprint triathlon takes off half the original distance Olympic standards have.

Sprint triathlon only takes 750 meters of swim (considerably short for a triathlon race), a biking distance of 20 km and a run of 5 km. Not much of a suffering right? But it is for the beginners.

Olympic distance, on the other hand, has standard of 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of biking and 10 km run for the last leg.

Iron Man Triathlon, which seem to have the primary aim of testing the limits of the physical body and the mental endurance of a racer requires one to finish 3.8 km of swim, 180 km for the bike lap and a run to hell of 42 km.

Once you embark on a sprint triathlon competition, the first thing you need to do is to condition your body for the grand day ahead. This can only be acquired through proper training, which normally lasts for not less than 13 weeks.

Set an achievable goal first. That would be better since you can work on it. Set your hopes high but do not go beyond plans that you believe would not work. Now that you have a specific point to get to, schedule your training program and start working on it. Assure to it that your plan will always be in accordance with the specific events that you are about to join. Do not just swim meters by meters. Or ride the bike for as long as you want. Or run miles on end. See to it that in each session, there is a specific aim that you are working with, say endurance or speed.

About the Author: This content is provided by Low Jeremy. With Sprint prepaid wireless phones, you can have the freedom you want and the great service you need -- with no strings attached.

These days, nearly everyone has a cell phone. Wireless phones are simple to use, easy to carry and offer limitless freedom to talk, wherever you are. There are usually no sign-up fees, no long-term contracts that force you to commit to two or three year plans, no set monthly payments and no credit checks. These phones are so simple to set up and use it's no wonder so many people have them.

Instead of costly long-term commitments, prepaid phone service allows you to be in control of how much you spend every month. There are plans that require you to make a minimum purchase, or put a time limit on the airtime you purchase, but these packages do vary. You can compare the limits offered with various providers, and the denominations of cards purchased. Even then, you're still only buying the amount of minutes you'll need. If you know that you'll be using the phone less next month than you did this month, you can buy a card for a lower denomination with fewer minutes. If you find that you're running short on airtime before the month ends, you can always purchase an additional card at any time.

Sprint prepaid wireless plans, and some other prepaid calling services, also allow you to avoid those nasty overages that can grossly inflate your bill. Rather than seeing your $40 monthly bill jump to an astronomical three-digits, the extra minutes you use will not be subject to ridiculously high rates. With a prepaid plan, you can simply buy extra minutes at the rate you normally pay. It's a fair way of doing business that benefits cell phone users, rather than penalizing them.

Don't worry that you'll have to choose from a selection of poor quality equipment when choosing a Sprint prepaid wireless phone. The selection is almost identical to that of phones offered on typical monthly plans, including the latest in camera and videophones. One major physical difference is their"minutes display" feature that gives you a running tally of how many airtime minutes you have left on your prepaid account.

In the world of cellular phones, Sprint prepaid wireless plans offer flexibility, quality and affordability, making them very attractive and popular choices.

About the Author: Susan Miller writes for several popular online magazines, on product advice and shopping tips subjects.

sprint-pcs cellular phones

Almost everyone, in regards to phone services, is familiar with the name Sprint. Founded in year 1899 in Abilene Kansas, by a man named Cleyson L. Brown, Sprint telephone company was then called Brown Telephone Company. Brown Telephone Company underwent a quick growth spurt due to its technical advances, and became great in the telephone industry by the year 1976. However, it wasn't until 1989 that Sprint International emerged as a worldwide name. Sprint's sudden success was in part because of its series of technological advances such as the first nationwide fiber-optic transmission, as well as the first fiber-optic transatlantic phone call.

By the year 1993, documents support that Sprint provided phone services for more than six million customer lines in nineteen different states. When the year 1995 came, Sprint, along with its partners, acquired 29 PCS wireless licenses in major trade areas in FCC's first auction. As a result, Sprint PCS evolved, as well as the Sprint PCS cell phones. The following paragraphs will discuss Sprint PCS cell phones, different types of PCS cell phones, as well as the fair and flexible calling plan available with Sprint PCS cell phones.

Sprint PCS Cellular Phones - Types and Styles

After you decide on a Sprint PCS cell phone plan, you will be able to select from a wide variety of types and styles of Sprint PCS cell phones. The span of vehicles types drivers race ranges from all terrain vehicles to Nascar and Indy racecars and everything in between. Among the large selection of automobiles being raced are go-carts, which have diversity within themselves. Go cart racing may be done on a homemade, makeshift track or races are taken to the "street" on professionally established, asphalt tracks.

Like any of the vehicles popularly driven in auto races, go carts are driven in different styles of races, depending on the type of cart you are driving. Go carts with small, compact, aerodynamic and low to the ground characteristics are the type you will see competing in short distance sprint races, sometimes referred to as "Fast and the Furious" racing. These races are traditionally 3/8 to ¾ of a mile in distance.

Nascar racing, another style of go cart competitions, attracts many people because it closely imitates real Nascar racing by using an oval asphalt track. The Nascar go-cart races are also sprints ranging from 1/10 to ¼ of a mile long. Nascar and Indy go cart racing are popular among participants not only because the race track style is similar to the actual races, the race imitations also pleases drivers because the cart designs resemble that of real one or two seater Nascar and Indy racecars. The last commonly known style of go cart racing takes a complete 180 degree turn to give you long distance, or "enduro," carting. Enduro cart racing is largely a test of a go-cart's capabilities. The races may last more than five miles, which is an unusual distance to drive most go-carts in one race. Some "enduro" races last hours and require teams in order to have driver switches.

Any of these three go cart race styles will most likely be found at established racetracks during scheduled events that may bring hundreds of registered participants. Professional and amateur drivers usually bring their own, often customized, go carts, depending on the level of competition expected. Across the nation are many professional and amateur established go cart tracks that are hosts to the race events, but "just for fun" go cart tracks are also available for families or newly interested go cart racers. These tracks have rental go carts to allow their customers the experience of amateur cart riding. Races are not the norm at tracks for this purpose, however, some scheduled family events or race days let participants rent a go cart for scheduled races that are classified by age, experience level, cart type and race distance. At larger, more frequented tracks you will usually find a better selection of go-cart rentals. Any go-cart rental track has typical stock carts, but some allow you the choice of two seater carts, Indy pacer imitation carts or Nascar style go- carts.

About The Author

Mitch Johnson is a successful freelance author that writes regularly for http://www.atv-parts-n-accessories.com/, a site that focuses exclusively on atv reviews, as well as tips on choosing parts and accessories। His articles have also been featured on recreational automotive sites such ashttp://www.go-cart-plans-n-kits.com/ and http://www.best-scooters-n-mopeds.com/.

sprint ringtones for you

Sprint phones are popular choices for countless cell phone users. With free downloadable ring tones, it's possible for those users to personalize their phones to create a sound all their own.

Cell phones are a big part of modern lifestyles. They allow us to communicate, let us check our email, and even take pictures. By customizing your Sprint phone with a personalized ring tone, you can easily distinguish your phone from a roomful of other handsets that may also be ringing. Log onto the Internet and you can choose from a big selection of free ring tones. Sounds easy, but it may actually be a little more complicated than that.

Whether or not you can download free ring tones depends upon which Sprint cell phone you have. Not all ring tones are adaptable to all Sprint phones; so don't bother downloading the ring tones if you're not able to use them. Most Sprint phones will accept downloadable ring tones send by SMS. In fact, Sprint was the first company to have access to the SMS format. These days, however, there are other places to find free Sprint ring tones.

If you're not sure whether or not the ring tone you want will work on your phone, the best thing to do is go ahead and download it, then try to see if it works.
Go online to browse for free downloadable ring tones, and you'll find lots to choose from.

It seems that every month, a new cell phone is released on the market. With each new phone come start-of-the-art technological advances, so the ring tones that worked on your last Sprint cell phone may not necessarily work on your new model. All cell phones, particularly brand new releases, are programmed differently.

When you have a failed download, all may not be lost. It could be a problem that can be resolved with a call to your service provider. Or, look for the same song in a format that's adaptable to your phone. There are countless websites offering downloadable ring tones that may be adaptable to your Sprint phone. Some of these downloads are free, while others can cost up to $2 each, so you might want to think twice before going on a frenzy and downloading dozens of them. If you simply can't find the ring tone you want to suit your phone, you'll just have to forget that tune and try to find another one.

If personalizing your phone with your favorite song is important to you, make sure you check the compatibility of your Sprint phone before you buy. You're able to compare all of the features, including download compatibility, with information available through retail locations or online.

Despite the ever-changing technology and a market flooded with options, cell phones can tend to be fairly dull and predictable. Sprint ring tones can bring life to your phone, and create a truly personalized accessory that really helps you stand out in a crowd.

About the Author: Richard Brown is an author for several well-known online magazines, on products tips and shopping and products topics.
